Network Monitor is designed with privacy as its core principle. All processing happens locally on your device.

What Data We Collect

Nothing. Network Monitor does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What Data Is Stored Locally

The app stores only the following information locally on your device:

Host configurations: Names, IP addresses/domains, and custom thresholds you add
App settings: Your preferences for ping interval, notifications, and display options
Temporary data: Ping history is stored in memory only and cleared when the app closes

What Data Is Transmitted

The only network traffic generated by the app is:

ICMP ping packets: Sent only to hosts you explicitly add for monitoring
DNS queries: To resolve domain names to IP addresses (if you use domain names)

                No telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting.

                Unlike most apps, Network Monitor does not include any analytics or tracking software.

What We DON'T Do

No user tracking or behavior analytics
No telemetry data collection
No crash reporting services
No third-party SDKs or advertising networks
No account registration or user profiles
No cloud synchronization or backup services
No access to your contacts, photos, files, or other apps

Permissions Required

Network Monitor requests minimal permissions:

Local Network: Required to ping devices on your local network
Notifications: Optional - only if you enable alerts in settings

Data Storage Location

All data is stored locally on your iOS device using standard iOS storage mechanisms:

SwiftData/CoreData: For persistent host and settings storage
Memory: For temporary ping history (cleared on app close)

Data Retention

Host configurations: Stored indefinitely until you delete them
Ping history: Stored in memory only, cleared when app closes
Settings: Stored indefinitely until you change them

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

Delete individual hosts: Swipe left on any host in the dashboard
Delete all data: Delete the app from your device

When you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.

Third-Party Services

None. Network Monitor does not use any third-party services for data processing, storage, or analytics.

Security

Network Monitor follows iOS security best practices:

All data is encrypted at rest using iOS device encryption
No data is transmitted over the network except ICMP pings to your specified hosts
The app uses only official iOS APIs and follows App Store guidelines

Children's Privacy

Network Monitor does not collect any personal information and is safe for users of all ages.
