Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Net Ping Monitor is designed around local-first monitoring. The app does not send your monitoring data to our servers because there are no servers involved.
What We Collect
Nothing. Net Ping Monitor does not collect, store or transmit personal data.
What Stays on Your Mac
- Host names, IP addresses, domains and custom thresholds you add.
- App preferences such as ping interval, notifications and display options.
- Temporary ping history kept in memory and cleared when the app closes.
Network Traffic Generated by the App
- ICMP ping packets sent only to hosts you explicitly monitor.
- DNS lookups when you monitor domain names instead of raw IP addresses.
What We Do Not Do
- No advertising SDKs, no selling your data, no user profiling.
- No third-party advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.
- No user accounts, profiles or cloud sync.
- No access to contacts, photos, files or unrelated apps.
Permissions
- Local Network permission is required to monitor devices on your LAN.
- Notifications permission is optional and used only if you enable alerts.
Storage and Retention
- Persistent data is stored locally using macOS storage APIs.
- Temporary chart history remains in memory only.
- Your data stays until you delete hosts, reset settings or remove the app.
Third-Party Services
Net Ping Monitor sends anonymous crash, app hang and performance diagnostics through Sentry, on by default, to help us fix bugs faster. You can turn this off under "Share Crash Reports and Diagnostics" in Settings. Sentry never receives your monitoring data, hosts, IP addresses, ping results, personal data or accounts. The app uses no other external services for processing or storage.
